GRAMMAR COMMENT [5, p.27] whatever, whenever, whichever, whoever, whenever, however or wherever.

The bagels had begun as a “thank you” to his employees whenever they won a research project. We use wheneverto mean“at any time” or “it doesn’t matter when”, e.g. Come and see whenever you like. We can also use: whatever (= any thing), whichever (= any thing, from a limited number), whoever (= any person), however (= it doesn’t matter how), wherever (= any place). They also have the meaning it doesn’t matter what/ which/who/how/where, etc.

Complete the sentences with whatever, whenever, whichever, whoever, however or wherever.

Revision Clauses of contrast and purpose

Complete the sentences with although/in spite of/because/because of.
