Theme: “How much time have you got? ”

Main aims:
Educational:

· Help to listen to the text and understand it about the holiday;

· Help to speak: answer and ask the questions;

· Recycle vocabulary and structures seen previously and new words: stamp, postcode

· Help to write address envelopes.

Developing:

· Assist to develop the confidence and competence to communicate effectively in English;

· Assist to develop memory, logical thinking, imagination and attention.

Upbringing: - to help to develop as a person;

· Help to develop the positive attitude to learning English as a foreign language to children;

· Help to join in new social sphere and experience;

· Help to develop skills and abilities in the intellectual work;

· Help to develop how best and useful to spend the holiday.

Type of the lesson: Combined lesson (Teaching writing, speaking, listening skills)

Technology, used in the lesson: Communicative Language Learning

Methods: demonstrative, game, TPR, audio-lingual, inductive activities

Teaching aids, materials, equipment: «Family and Friends 4» -class book, computer, screen, CD60, sheets of paper.

We are going to play “Whispers” ( to revise the new words from the previous lesson ) · Organize Ps in groups of at least six. Show a flashcard to the first child in each group. This child whispers the word to the child next to him/her. · Ps continue whispering the word to the child next to them until the word reaches the final child. · The final child says the word aloud, and the first child holds up the flashcard to see whether the word and the flashcard are the same. (if it is correct, write it on the board and elicit the meaning from the class.) T.(asks Ps to remember about Finn’s holiday asking questions): How did Finn get to Cornwall? Was it a short journey? What did he see in the town centre?     Ps: are playing a game     P: are answering questions.   10 min

T (asks Ps to identify the elements on the envelope with the instructions 1 to 5.) -Point to each element in turn: Where’s the postcode? Where’s the stamp? Where’s the name of the town? Where’s the name of the person? Where are the number of the flat or house and the name of the road? II Read and circle T(asks Ps to do the exercise individually) -Read the sentences and circle the correct option! T(goes through the answers with the class) Answers: 1. right 2 after 3 before 4 end III. Writing the envelope T. (takes a sheet of paper and shows Ps how to fold it into a simple envelope.) T.(asks Ps to work in pairs to make an envelope and write their address on the envelope and give it to their partner.) - Work in pairs! -Try to make an envelope and write your address on it and give it to your partner!
