«Стараясь избежать предвзятых мнений, он [Миллер] не пользовался никакими комментариями, а сравнивал текст с текстом, пользуясь лишь обозначенными параллельными местами, сносками и симфонией. Он изучал Библию регулярно и систематически: начал с Бытия и читал стих за стихом, не двигаясь дальше, если были какие–то затруднения или путаница. Наталкиваясь на трудное место, он обычно сравнивал его со всеми другими текстами, относящимися к изучаемому вопросу. Стремясь понять смысл данного текста, он вдумывался в каждое слово, и если его понимание согласовывалось с параллельными текстами, вопрос был исчерпан. Встречая трудные для понимания места, он всегда находил им объяснение в других частях Священного Писания. (88) Он исследовал Библию усердно, молясь, чтобы Господь просветил его и помог найти ответы на то, что раньше было скрыто от него.
