Vinnytsia National Technical University

VNTU is an educational establishment that is well-known both in Ukraine and abroad. VNTU consists of 7 scientific and educational institutes:

ü InPEEEM (Institute of Power Engineering, Ecology and Electrical Mechanics)

ü InMBT (Institute of Machine Building and Transport)

ü InRETEIE (Institute of Radio Engineering, Telecommunication and Electronic Instrument Engineering)

ü InM (Institute of Management)

This educational establishment which is often called simply ‘politech’ has existed in Vinnytsia since 1960. At first it was the general technical faculty of Kyiv Institute of Food Industry. Then it became Vinnytsia branch of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In 1974 Vinnytsia Polytechnic Institute was established on the base of Vinnytsia branch of KPI. In 2003 it was given the status of Vinnytsia National Technical University. VNTU is well known today both in Ukraine and abroad because it has been training specialists for almost 70 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America for about 20 years.

Today VNTU is the largest technical university in Podilia region. VNTU is the only permanent member representing Ukraine in the International Association of Inventors IFIA with headquarters in Geneva. The scientists of VNTU are annually awarded medals for inventions presented on the invention exhibitions, organized by IFIA. VNTU is not only the educational and scientific center, but also the cultural center in the region. It trains students according to its specific curricula and educates according to its own educational conception.

The University trains day-time students, part-time students, post-graduate and Doctor degree students, pre-University students. VNTU is given the highest 4th level of accreditation and trains students according to the three stage system Bachelor - Engineer – Master, following the curricula, which integrates the peculiarities of national and Canadian system of higher education.

Apart from acquiring the basic specialty, the students are allowed to get the second specialty by correspondence.

University campus is located on the lot of 25 hectares in the city of Vinnytsia. Today there are 12 educational buildings, 7 hostels, a stadium with covered running tracks, a track-and-field hall, 12 open-air playing grounds, a sanatorium-preventorium for students, a medical aid station, a dining hall and snack bars. The University has the University sports centre on 10 hectares in the village Stepashky 100 km away from Vinnytsia. The University is also unique in Ukraine to allow students of any specialty with achievements in sports to obtain the additional specialization ― Management of Organizations of Physical Culture and Sports.

Students of different specialties learn English for Specific Purposes on the level of technical translation, which allows them to join the overseas representative offices or work abroad.
