All inclusive an all-inclusive resort is one that, in addition to providing lodging, includes a wide range of other amenities such as unlimited food, beverages, sports activities, and daily and nightly entertainment. Golf, diving and spa services usually cost extra, as does top-shelf liquor at some resorts. Group rate prices with discounts which are applied when morе than 10 people are served(groups of tourists).

The European Plan sometimes abbreviated as EP in hotel listings, indicates that the quoted rate is strictly for lodging and does not include any meals. All food provided by the hotel is billed separately. Taxes and tips are usually additional as well.The advantage of the European Plan is that it encourages guests to try a variety of restaurant experiences, and they can often save money by eating at establishments that charge less than the hotel dining room.

Complex Service a standard set of tourist services including check- in and check-out, accommodation, nourishment and excursions.

The American Plan sometimes abbreviated as AP in hotel listings, means that the quoted rate includes three meals a day, i.e. breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Travelers choosing a hotel in a remote location where there are not many restaurants — or none at all — need to stay at a hotel that offers an American plan. In Europe and some other countries the American Plan is referred to as Full Pension or Full Board.

Modified American Plan sometimes abbreviated as MAP in hotel listings, means that the quoted rate includes two meals a day, including breakfast and either lunch or dinner. In the Modified American plan, these meals are provided by the hotel dining room. Some hotels offer guests the option of being on the American Plan, a Modified American Plan, or paying a la carte for food consumed in their facility. In Europe and some other countries the Modified American Plan is referred to as Half Pension or Half Board.

3. General terms and notions (Загальні терміни та поняття)

Service providers collect them to return to the tour operator or travel agent that has sent that customer, to prove they have given the service.

Parking space in which to park vehicles or a vehicle.

Ski pass a card, ticket, or permit giving authorization for the holder to enter or have access to a ski lift.

Inter rail is a railway ticket available for unlimited rail travel in a specific country for a certain period of time.

OB (Only bed)- an arrangement in which a hotel etc. provides only bed(without nourishment).

Continental breakfast a hotel breakfast that may include sliced bread with butter/jam/honey, cheese, meat, croissants, pastries, rolls, fruit juice and various hot beverages. It is served commonly in the continental Europe, North America, and elsewhere, as opposed to the English breakfast served commonly in the UK. See also American breakfast.

English breakfast is a breakfast consisting of cooked food such as bacon, eggs, sausages, and tomatoes. It also includes toast and tea or coffee.

BB (Bed & Breakfast) at the most basic level, a bed and breakfast is place -- often found in a renovated home, mansion or small hotel -- to spend the night and enjoy a full breakfast (included in the price of the room) in the morning. But every bed and breakfast is different, and there's no single accepted definition. Innkeepers, travelers, B& B associations, lawmakers and others all tend to have different ideas. Even the breakfast part is not 100 percent certain. Some B& Bs offer only a continental breakfast, and some inns which would otherwise be considered a bed and breakfast offer no morning meal at all.

HB (Half Board) an arrangement in which a hotel etc. provides bed and breakfast and an evening meal, but no meal at lunchtime.

HB + (Half Board+ or extended half board) an arrangement in which a hotel etc. provides bed and breakfast and an evening meal with local beverages, but no meal at lunchtime.

FB (Full Board) a hotel offering full board provides guests with all their meals.All the beverages are served for additional price.

FB+ (Full Board or extended Full Board) a hotel offering full board provides guests with all their meals.All the beverages are served for free.

AL, ALL (All inclusive) accommodation, which includes the cost of meals or meals at any time at the request of a tourist.

UALL (Ultra All inclusive) accommodation, which includes the cost of meals or meals at any time at the request of a tourist.

a) Classification of accommodation:

SGL (Single, одномісний номер)- a room in hotel for one person.

DBL (double, двомісний номер) - double occupancy in a room(one big bed).

TRPL(Triple, тримісне розміщення, для трьох дорослих)- triple occupancy in a room.

QDPL(Quadriple, чотирьохмісне розміщення)- an accommodation for 4 people.

ExB(Extra Bed, додаткове ліжко)- additional bed (for a child up to 12 years old).

Chld (Child, розміщення з дитиною)- accommodation for an adult with a child(CH-a child up to 15 years old; ch-a child up to 6 years old; inf-a baby(0-2 years old).

SC(SGL+Chld, 1 дорослий і дитина)- one adult with a child.

DC(DBL+Chld, 2 дорослих і дитина)- twoadults with a child.

SGL+2 Chld (1 дорослий і 2 дітей) - one adult with 2 children.

DBL+2 Chld (2 дорослих і 2 дітей) - 2 adults with 2 children.

Room Classification:

STD(Standard, стандартний номер)- a standard room.

BDR, BDRM (номер зі спальнею)- a room with a bedroom.

Superior (покращений номер)- a room of better quality (bigger than a standard room).

Studio (студія)- a room with a kitchen.

Family room (сімейний номер)– a room for a family(bigger than a standard room).

Family studio (сімейний номер з 2 кімнатами) – an accommodation for a family with 2 rooms.

Extra bed (or king size, номер з великим двоспальним ліжком) - a room with a big double bed.

Suite (номер, що складається з вітальні та спальні)– an accommodation which consists of a living room and a bedroom.

Suite mini (junior, покращений номер) – an improved room.

DX (De Luxe, двомісний однокімнатний номер великих розмірів з покращеним плануванням) – of special elegance, sumptuousness, or fineness; high or highest in quality, luxury, etc.

Business(великий за площею номер з комп’ютером та факсом) – a big room with a computer and a fax designed for work.

Honeymoon room (номер для одружених) – a room forthe newly married couple.

Connected rooms (суміжні номери) – adjoining rooms with a common door.

Duplex (двохповерховий великий номер)– a big two- storeyed(duplex) accommodation.

Apartment(апартаменти)– an accommodation which consists of several rooms and a kitchen.

President (найрозкішніші номера готелю)- the best available and luxurious rooms in a hotel which consist of several bedrooms, a living room, a study and with several bathrooms and toilets.

b) Classification according to room location:

MB(Main Building, основна будівля готелю)- the main building of a hotel.

BGL, BG(Bungalow, бунгало)- a building near the main building of a hotel. It is mainly a two-storeyed building.

Cabana (будиночок на пляжі біля басейну) - a shelter on a beach or at a swimming pool used as a bathhouse.

Cottage(котедж)- a small vacation house.

Villa(вілла)- a large and luxurious country house in its own grounds.

Executive floor (поверх в готелі з покращеним рівнем обслуговування) – one of the floors in a hotel with higher level of service.

6.Types of holiday (Типи відпочинку)

Break a short holiday.

Package holiday( BE ), vacation package( AE ) a holiday organized by a company at a fixed price that includes the cost of travel, accommodation etc: Airports have been expanding to cope with the numbers of people going on package holidays.

Package tour ( BE ), tour( AE ) a holiday organized by a company at a fixed price, which includes visits to a number of different places, travel to the starting point of the holiday and all travel during it, accommodation etc.

Fly-drive holiday ( BE ) a holiday arranged at a fixed price that includes your flight to a place, a car to drive while you are there, and accommodation.

Tailor-made holiday( BE ) a holiday where arrangements for travel and accommodation are made specifically for you, so that you can choose exactly what you like.

House exchange a holiday in which two people or families go and stay in each other’s houses.

Tour a journey for pleasure, during which you visit several different towns, areas.

Family holiday( BE ), vacation( AE ) a holiday in which parents and children go somewhere together.

Skiing/ walking/ cycling etc holiday( BE ), ski/hiking/bike etc trip( AE ) a holiday in which you spend a lot of time skiing, walking, cycling etc.

Cruise a holiday on a large ship, usually visiting different places for a short while.

Safari a trip to see or hunt wild animals, especially in Africa.

Backpacking the activity of travelling for pleasure, usually without very much money, carrying your things in a large bag on your back.

Camping the activity of taking a holiday in which you stay in a tent.

Caravanning ( BE ) a holiday in which you take a caravan with you and sleep in it while you are away.

Working holiday( BE ), working vacation/volunteer vacation( AE ) a holiday in which you do some work, either your normal type of which you do some work, either your normal type of work or a different kind such as farm work or work to protect nature.

Adventure holiday ( BE ), adventure vacation( AE ) a holiday in which you spend all your time outdoors, doing something such as travel in a wild area of a country or cycle across a desert.

Activity holiday ( BE ) a holiday in which you do one or more activities, usually outdoors, for example canoeing, horse-riding or archery.

Honeymoon a holiday taken by two people who have just got married.
