Indications and usage






Progesteronic insufficiency

Conditions characterized by progesterone deficiency:

-endometriosis;.

-infertility caused by lutein deficiency;

-threatened or habitual abortion (in progesterone deficiency);

-premenstrual syndrome;

-dysmenorrhe, irregular menses;

-secondary amenorrhea (in combination therapy with estrogens)

-dysfunctional uterine hemorrhages.

Hormonal replacement thera p y

For neutralization of the proliferative action of estrogens on the endometrium during HRT in women with disorders caused by natural or surgical menopause with the uterus being intact.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to dydrogesterone or its other components.

With caution.

Itch during prior pregnancy.

At present, there are no data on the negative effect of the drug in patients with chronic renal failure.

Pregnancy and lactation.

The agent may be used during pregnancy (see Indications and usage). The drug is excreted with breast milk. Breast feeding is not recommended when the drug is used.

Dosage and administration

The drug should be orally administered.

Endometriosis. 10 mg 2-3 times daily from the 5th to the 25th day of a cycle or continuously.

Infertility (caused by lutein deficiency). 10 mg once daily from the 14th to the 25th day of a cycle. Treatment should be performed continuously for at least 6 consecutive cycles.

Therapy is best continued within the first months of pregnancy in the manner as recommended in habitual abortion.

Threatened abortion. 40 mg once, then 10mg every 8 hours until its symptoms disappear.

Habitual abortion. 10 mg twice daily till the 20th week of pregnancy, with subsequently gradually reducing the dose of the drug. Premenstrual syndrome. 10 mg twice daily from the 11 th to the 25th day of a cycle.

Dysmenorrheal. 10 mg twice daily from the 5th to the 25th day of a cycle. Irregular menses. 10 mg twice daily from the 11th to the 25th day of a cycle.

Amenorrhea. An estrogen drug once daily from the 1st to the 25th day of a cycle together with 10 mg of the drug twice daily from the 11th to the 25th day of a cycle.

Dysfunctional uterine hemorrhages (to arrest hemorrhage). 10 mg twice daily during 5 or 7 days.

Dysfunctional uterine hemorrhages (to prevent hemorrhage). 10 mg twice daily from the 11 th to the 25th day of a cycle.

Overdosage.

There are no reports on the symptoms of overdosage. Gastric lavage is recommended after accidental ingestion of a dose that exceeds the therapeutic one. Its specific antidote is absent; treatment should be symptomatic.
