Fail safe switch

• The fail safe switch is installed on the side of in­ take rocker arm shaft This switch detects the condition that the rocker arm shaft has turned to the high speed position.

• The ignitor relay remains on and sending pow­ er to the solenoid from the battery for 3-8 se­ conds even after the engine has stalled with the relay energizing power supplied from the ignitor.

During this 5-8 seconds period, the spool valve is held in the low and mid speed position. When the power is interrupted after the 5-8 se­ conds period, the spool valve returns by the spring force inside the solenoid and comes back to the high speed position.

• Remove the fail safe switch and the cylinder head side cap.

• With the clutch lever squeezed, turn the throttle grip to raise the engine speed to 10 000 rpm.
