When the sub rocker arm shim has been replaced, make sure to check the sub rocker arm play. (See page 24.)

• With the rocker arm shaft turned counterclockwise using the special tool {Rocker shaft turning wrench) all the way until it stops, check for sub rocker arm play.

Sub rocker arm play: 0.10-0.25 mm (0.004-0.010 in)

NOTE:

• During inspection, hold the special tool handle so that the rocker arm shaft may not move from the position turned clockwise.

NOTE:

The construction of this mechanism does not allow correct inspection if the rocker arm shaft returns clockwise even slightl y.

• Turn the rocker arm shaft counterclockwise using the spe­ cial tool {Rocker shaft turning wrench) all the way until it stops.

• During inspection, hold the special tool handle so that the rocker arm shaft may not move from the LO position.

• Adjust screws CD and ® {two places)
