Scottish Food

Scottish people have long been known for eating meats and fat with root vegetables like potatoes, radishes and carrots. Scottish food is usually very heavy and filling. The hard cold rainy weather in Scotland is part of the reason food there is so fatty and heavy. Nothing warms a person up faster and gives strength like a hot bowl of stew.

Haggis is one of Scottish national dishes. Its ingredients are the following:

1cleaned sheep or lamb's stomach

2 lb. (pound) dry oatmeal

1 lb. chopped lamb

1 lb. lamb liver, boiled and cut

1 lb. sheep heart, boiled and cut
