1 Translate the following sentences into Russian, paying attention

to the underlined parts and make up 6 sentences of your own

with any of these phrases.

 

1) My head is swimming. I’m going to faint. 2) My leg has gone dead. I want to stretch it but I can’t. 3) It’s not a serious injury, it’s only a scratch. 4) You may get blood poisoning if you don’t keep the wound clean. 5) His sight is poor, and besides he is colour-blind. 6) An epidemic is an infectious disease caused by germs.
7) This is a severe case of acute appendicitis. 8) Her uncle died of brain haemorrhage. 9) Let me see your tongue… Yes, it is a little furred. 10) What’s the matter with Paul? – He’s gone down with bronchitis. 11) I should say you are generally run down.

2 Choose the most suitable word or phrase underlined in each

A Visit to the Doctor’s
