Waitress: Hello sir. Welcome to Jake’s. Have you eaten here before?

Customer: No. This is my first time here. A friend of mine from work suggested this place the other day.

Waitress: Oh. Well, would you like to hear about today’s specials?

Customer: Sure, why not?

Waitress: Ok. We have three items on special. The first is the manager’s special. It is baked cod (треска) served with rice and a vegetable medley (смесь). The second is fried shrimp with fries on the side. The last one is my favorite. It is a 10 oz. rib eye (стейк без кости) with a choice of two sides.

Customer: They all sound good. I guess bring me the rib eye with a baked potato and green beans as my sides.

Waitress: Good choice. How would you like your steak?

Customer: Medium rare.

Waitress: Sounds good. What would you like to drink?

Customer: I’ll take a glass of your house red.

Waitress: Do you want to start off with an appetizer like some fried calamari or chicken wings?

Customer: No. I’m good. Thanks.

Waitress: Ok. That will be out in about 10 minutes.

10 minutes later

Waitress: OK sir. Here is your rib eye. Can I get you anything else? Would you like another glass of wine?

Customer: This looks great. No more wine for me. I’m going to switch to soda. What kind of soft drinks do you have?

Waitress: We have Coke, Sprite and Dr. Pepper.

Customer: Bring me a Coke please.

Waitress: OK. Coming right up. (уже на подходе)

10 minutes later:

Waitress: How was it?

Customer: The steak was great. No complaints.

Waitress: Great. Can I clear your plate?

Customer: Sure.

Waitress: Do you have any room for dessert?

Customer: No, just bring the check please.

Waitress: Ok sir. I’ll be right back with that.

Yesterday I decided to go out to dinner with brother. My brother is always in a bad mood and before we went he said, “We are not going to Taco Bell or Friday’s! I hate ____________! Every town has these restaurants and they bore me! They all look the same. ” So we went to a small Italian restaurant down the street from my house owned by a nice older couple. They had no idea what they were in for!

Since it was a small restaurant, there was not a hostess. The owner’s wife greeted us and told us to sit wherever we wanted. This nice woman, like I said, was old so she moved slowly. It took her about five minutes to get our drinks. My brother yelled out, “The _____________here is horrible! It is taking too long to get our drinks! ” We decided we didn’t want appetizers so we ordered the __________right away. My brother ordered pasta, but he wanted the sauce __________. He doesn’t like the sauce on top of the pasta. I ordered____________chicken and vegetables with no special requests. I love food cooked in wine sauce. Ten minutes later our food came to our table. The old woman, with her shaking arms, spilled a tiny piece of sauce on my brother’s shoe as she was placing his ____________ in front of him. This was the beginning of her bad night.

My brother yelled out, “ _________ a napkin right now! You are a bad waitress and I think this meal should be _____________. I don’t want to pay for it. ” I told the nice old woman not to listen to him and that everything was fine. I informed my brother that he was rude and that it would be better for him to stop talking.

We finished and the old woman brought us the ___________. I paid and left a big ___________. This poor old lady needed some extra money after putting up with my brother!
