Dating back to the Crusa-des, this flag symbolized England since 1277. On June 24, 1497, John Cabot planted it on the shore of present-day Labrador, making it the first flag to fly over mainland America. Saint George is perhaps most famous for slaying a dragon. The story tells of a young St. George who is kidnapped by a witch and later sails to foreign lands to rescue a princess. The Lion is the national Animal, it comes from the UK Coat of Arms, King Richard the lion-hearts' original heraldic device. The Lion was the Plantagenet symbol from Geoffry V.
Cauldron Snout is a waterfall on the River Tees in Northern England.Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. Scafell Pike/ˈ skɔ ː ˈ fɛ l/ or /skɑ ː ˈ fɛ l/ is the highest mountain in England, at an elevation of 978 metres above sea level. It is located in Lake District National Park, in Cumbria. The Thames is the longest river entirely in England and the second longest in the United Kingdom, after the River Severn.
