European Voluntary Service in France

August 2016 – July 2017

The Europe House in Nî mes-Europe Direct Information Centre Gard-Lozè re would like to host an EVS volunteer for a project of 12 months in Nî mes, in Southeast France. The volunteer will participate in the activities of the Europe House (informing the citizens about the actuality and projects of the European Union) and will work on EU mobility topic.

Most of the activities of the volunteer will be connected to youth and non-formal education and the tasks will be:

- animation of the social networks,

- updating the e-media,

- providing information about European mobility programs and about the activities of the Europe House,

- helping for the European and Intercultural Educational Service (workshops and interventions in educational establishments),

- creation and realisation of intercultural activities,

- working with the local and international youth, helping at our youth exchange indeed.

The volunteer's tasks will be adjusted to his capacities and personal affinities.

Volunteer profile sought:

The Europe House in Nî mes wants to have a European volunteer in its team in order to add a new way of thinking and new skills. The volunteer's motivation and his capacity to bring enthusiasm during their intervention especially for the youngsters, is an important criteria. Raising awareness about the importance of the EU and providing information about it is more credible if it is made by young people who believe in the EU and who have a strong motivation to participate in the programs that are proposed.

Description of the volunteering

Destined to encourage the mobility and the implication of the young people from 18 to 20 years old, the European Voluntary Service (EVS) helps to serve a non-profit organization or to a public body for general interest. Fully funded by the Erasmus + program (except for a part of the journey if necessary), the stay is totally free of charge for the volunteer.

Accommodations and practicalities:

The volunteer will work around 35 hours per week. The working time of the Europe House is flexible and depends on the activity level. In general, the volunteer will not work during the weekend only in special cases and in that case, he will be able to take more days off. Furthermore, he is entitled to two days off per month.
