XV. Read the following quotations describing the ideas of perfect hotel.

What type of the hotel would each of the speakers prefer? Give your

Reasons.

A: “I work for one of the largest tour operators, so I spend most of my time traveling. In my opinion hotels need to be efficient; the telephones should work and there should be an overnight laundry service. I think a good range of restaurants is vital as I don’t have time to go out in the evening.”

B: “We have a small family business abroad, and when we travel somewhere on business we like to take the children with us. I don’t think the big hotels look after small groups very well. I mean they can put you on different floors, and you can see each other only in the restaurant. On the other hand self-catering apartments aren’t very good because they don’t offer enough facilities. If you ask me, there should be more hotels that offer a mixture of both facilities.”

C: “I don’t travel very often, but I sometimes I do. For me the ideal hotel needs to be near the theatres and cinemas. As for me, the best hotels are old-fashioned ones with a lot of atmosphere, but of course they should have a good range of facilities too. If you ask me, staying in a modern hotel would be an unpleasant experience.”

XVI. Use tourist booklets and say what types of hotels are described in them.

Comment on your decision.

XVII. 1) Prepare a list of questions that you would ask yourself before

Opening a hotel or starting working in the accommodations industry,

E.g.

1. What kind (type) of hotel am I going to open (to work at)?

2. Where will the hotel be located?

3. ………………………………...?
