Old vs young, aging, aging of men and women

The problem of generation gap is familiar to every family. The difference between the young and the old appears to be turning into a chasm. In Japan the even have a special term for the teenagers to challenge authority, to do their own thing, to be young, rebellious and free. Elders face anew, and serious, threat to traditional values. Many young people actually benefited by increased leisure time and the possibility of exploring alternative lifestyles. They drop up school, play truant and start clubbing solidly, destroying the values and traditions.

Of course, there is a fundamental difference in attitudes of old and young. The old generation saw the creation of wealth as the most important thing in life, while the young have other concerns and priorities, they've learned to take economic prosperity for granted and don't feel the need to be workaholics. Family life, leisure time, and holidays are much more important to the young today.

The older generation thinks differently. They have staid ideas and won't listen to new ones. Most adults are conservative and are afraid of changes.

Young people don't get listened to by either parents or teachers.

Some older people think the young are getting very lazy. The old say, that the young sound rude as they use different words and phrases. I’m sure, the young should speak to the old in the way that expresses respect to them and that differs from that they go on to their friends. So youngsters should respect age and should realize that people need to be more sensitive to other people. They also find it is expectable to wear torn and dirty clothes while all around do their best to look tidy and clean. They have their own style and hair styles. And the sort of way-out clothes some of them wear is just the way to show how creative they are.

Many children today care more about what they can get out of life and not what they can put into it. The young are more impressed by what people own and what the people are-what kind of person they are.

I’m sure that generations should respect each other and that includes tolerating differences.

Our ability to believe what we want made life easy for the beauty industry. Fuelled by the immense value attached to youth, it has made millions o u t of vacant promises of renewing faces and bodies. The marketers created special cosmetics that beat back the ravages of ageing, as they say, that actually interacts with cells. They claim that their products are able to get rid of wrinkles and women believe as they are despaired.

However, the real issue is why we are so terrified of wrinkles in the first place. Sadly, youth and beauty have become the currency of our society, buying popularity and op port unity. The value of age and experience is denied, and women in particular feel the threat that the visible changes o f ageing bring.

when men gain a little grey hair, their appeal often increases because, for them, age implies power, success, wealth, and position. But as a woman’s power is still strongly perceived to be tied up with fertility, ageing demonstrates to the world her decline, her redundancy for h e r primary function. Wrinkles are symbolic of the shriveling o f the reproductive system.
