Either … or; both … and; neither … nor a) 1. We use either … or to talk about a choice between two possibilities. Either you or I can phone him. 2. We use both … and to join two ideas. She speaks both English and German. 3. We use neither … nor to join two negative ideas. He speaks neither French nor Spanish.
b) 1. We use either alone to mean “I don’t mind which one.” “Do you want to go to the cinema or to the theatre? ” “Either” 2.
