Sharing Files Locally

When enabled by the administrator, you can share files or folders on ownCloud with a local user, group, or any person online with a public link. Shared files and folders are labeled with the triangular share icon, and the status Shared in the file or folder row.

To create a local share with other users or groups on your ownCloud server:

1. Put your cursor over an item on the Files page

2. Click the Share icon The Share dialog box opens to show the following options: Type the name of the user or group that you want to share with. If you want to share with more than one, you have to create each share separately. Check the permissions you want the user or group to have, and optionally send them an email notification.

5.3.4 Testing ownCloud app in the web page

In order to see the ownCloud app allowing the user to download the materials, we created a sample web page https://nurebooks.weebly.com. In this website, the user can download the files and folder which are shared with the link through ownCloud.

Figure 5.4- When the user selects the topic that is underlined to the direct click

The chosen topic is underlined when the cursor is moved towards it. Then by a click the user can download the shared file or folder from the web page.

Thus the administrator can share any file and folders, pictures, documents, links and music, etc. from any region saved in the ownCloud app. Make changes when ever and where ever by using Amazon Linux over the cloud. Hence, the user can download the materials from the web page from any parts of the world. Since ownCLoud is an open source any other user can also upload and share the documents.
