Warming up. Read and dramatize the following mini-dialogues. Make up your own short situations.

A. Introducing Yourself

Kate: Hello, my name is Kate. What is your name?

Bill: Hi, I am Bill; it is very nice to meet you, Kate.

Kate: Nice meeting you too. Where are you from, Bill?

Bill: I am from the United States, I live in New York.

Kate: Oh, I see.

Bill: And where are you from?

Kate: I am from England, I live in London.

Bill: That’s great!

 

B. Getting Acquainted

John: Hi, I am your new groupmate. My name is John.

Ronda: I am pleased to meet you, John. My name is Ronda.

John: Nice to meet you too.

Ronda: Where are you from, John?

John: I am from Canada, I live in Toronto.

Ronda: Oh, really? I have never been to Canada. I think it’s a beautiful country.

John: Yes, it is. Where are you from, Ronda?

Ronda: I am from Sydney, it is in Australia.

John: Yes, sure, that’s cool!

Denis: Hello, what is your name?

Maria: Hi, my name is Maria. And what is yours?

Denis: I am David. Where are you from?

Maria: I am from Italy. What about you?

Denis: I am from Russia.

Maria: That’s so cool, Russia is really big.

Denis: Oh, yes, you are quite right. I live in Buryatia.

Maria: I have never heard about it. Where is it?

Denis: It is in Siberia.

Maria: That’s interesting. And what do you do there?

Denis: I am a student of a college.

Maria: I am a student too. What do you study?

Denis: I study Law and Business, and you?

Maria: I study Tourism. I am very fond of travelling. May be one day I will travel to Siberia.
