Dialogue between a Room Attendant and a Guest






Role play the dialogue and then use other words from the Table “Laundry, dry cleaning, pressing” instead of the underlined

Guest: Good morning. I want to have my clothes washed and cleaned. How it can be organized (done)?

Chambermaid (Room attendant?): Good morning. You should fill in the special form.

G: Where I can find it?

C: It is on the upper shelf of the wardrobe ['wɔ ː drə ub].

G: I want to have my blouse washed, my scarf pressed (ironed) my skirt dry-cleaned.

C: You have to point out in the form which item should be cleaned washed or pressed. Then you should put everything into the laundry ['lɔ ː ndrɪ ] bag and leave the bag outside the room.

G: How long will it take? I want to have my things ready by tomorrow morning.

C: We can offer you express cleaning and washing, but you have to pay extra.

G: How much does it cost?

C: The charge is 30 percent more.

G: My husband wants to know where a hair-dryer is?

C: The hair-dryer is in your bathroom on the wall. What else can I do for you, ma’am?

G: Nothing more, thank you.

C: Very well. I`m always at your disposal.

John: Hello, I wonder if you can help me, the heating in our room doesn’t seem to be working, could you send someone to fix it?

Room attendant: What seems to be the problem with it?

John: I don’t know, sometimes it doesn’t work.

Room attendant: I’ll send someone along tomorrow.

John: Do you think you could send someone today? It’s really quite cold.

Room attendant: OK, I’ll see if the engineer is here today.

John: Thanks very much.
